Context and Introduction

A premium audio system manufacturer recognized the need for a universal solution that would allow easy deployment and configuration of sound systems in various car models. The previous method of developing dedicated applications for each manufacturer was time-consuming and incurred high costs.

Our task was to develop an application based on the Android Automotive OS platform that would enable quick deployment of audio systems in new vehicles and provide convenient management of configurations and updates from a single location.

Problem Description

The client struggled with scaling their audio solutions – each application required a separate implementation for a specific car manufacturer and model. There was no possibility of quickly and conveniently introducing changes, leading to prolonged deployment processes and limiting expansion into new markets. Another challenge was the need for manual updates of presets and sound configurations in individual vehicles, generating additional operational and logistical costs.

Proposed Solution

We developed a universal audio application on the Android Automotive OS platform, allowing the client to integrate sound systems into new vehicles without writing dedicated code for each model. The solution has a modular structure, enabling the addition of new vehicle models and precise configuration of audio parameters, such as presets and equalizer settings, without updating the application itself.

Complementing this solution is a proprietary CMS that allows remote management of all audio settings. Administrators can add new configurations, update existing ones, or introduce changes specific to a particular car model at any time. Communication between the mobile application and CMS occurs in real-time, enabling instant implementation of changes and updates at scale.

Results and Benefits

With our solution, the time required to introduce a new car model to the audio platform was reduced by over 70%. Maintenance costs also decreased by approximately 50%. The client gained a flexible tool that allows the quick addition of new audio configurations and vehicles without creating dedicated applications.
